(Item 008446) Nondisruptive CP-SVR pipe deactivation: go to a different DLUS ------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are currently several sense data values that the DLUS can use in a nondisruptive UNBIND-initiated CP-SVR pipe deactivation. None of them permit the DLUR to immediately reinitiate CP-SVR pipe activation while requiring the DLUR to select a different DLUS for the new pipe. A customer situation has been identified where a takeover between CMCs is required. The current DLUS can deactivate the CP-SVR pipe, but the DLUR's reactivation logic directs it to reestablish the CP-SVR pipe with the same DLUS. What is needed is a new sense data value to permit the DLUR to immediately reinitiate CP-SVR pipe activation while requiring the DLUR to select a different DLUS for the new pipe. The DLUR, upon receiving the new sense data, would not try to reestablish the CP-SVR pipe with the same DLUS, but rather with a different DLUS. The proposed architecture change is to define sense data X'08A0 000B' as DLUS-DLUR Session Deactivation (Nondisruptive): DLUR should activate a DLUS-DLUR session with a different DLUS if possible; otherwise, it should wait for DLUS reactivation of the DLUS-DLUR session; LU-LU sessions for DLUR-supported dependent LUs should not be reset. When the DLUR receives this sense data as part of a nondisruptive UNBIND-initiated CP-SVR pipe deactivation, the DLUR will perform the SSCP-PU, SSCP-LU, and LU-LU session deactivation functions already defined for the other nondisruptive session deactivation sense data. The only difference will be in pipe reactivation, i.e., the DLUR can immediately reinitiate CP-SVR pipe activation, but not with the same DLUS. If no other DLUS is defined at the DLUR, then the DLUR should perform the same actions as it does for sense data X'08A0 000A' when waiting for a DLUS to reinitiate CP-SVR pipe activation. DLURs and DLUSs which support UNBIND with X'08A0 000B' will set (to 1) a new indicator (byte 9, bit 4) in the DLUR/S Capabilities (X'51') control vector during CP-SVR pipe activation.
